8 Months!

6 months

8 months

Could this be??? Cara is already 8 months old?? This first month of summer has been so much fun getting to see Cara learning and exploring new things....
Some of the little things that I want to remember about this month-
- getting VERY efficient at crawling
- this new efficiency has led to an adventurous little girl that has a fascination with electrical outlets and shoes. She can spot these things no matter where she is.
- trying all kinds of new food, fruits and veggies mostly, and yogurt. Will eat mostly anything I give her. I am enjoying this while it lasts
- can pick up cheerios and puffs with her fingers and keeps her entertained for a while!
- LOVES being around people. Smiles in the elevator of our building at anyone who will catch her eye. Gets giddy around other kids.
- pulls up to stand on anything that will let her, including my legs when I am standing up. :) Spends a lot of her day now vertical. There aren't a lot of options in our apartment to safely do this, so we must venture out for a change of scenery a couple times a day. She will even stay standing for a few seconds on her own now. When she gets tired these days, instead of laying on the floor and sucking her thumb, she will come stand, next to me, lean her head against me, and suck her thumb. Sitting down is just too boring.

Using the couch as her ballet bar practicing her arabesque, so graceful. :)

- Smiles and flaps her arms whenever I pick her up and grab the keys to head out the door.
- Sleeping through the night for the most part unless our routine is interrupted with going out of town.
- no teeth yet, but that drool is flowing. :)
- still loves listening to books read to her. This was our number one way of calming her in the car on our trip.
- recognizing people we know, and will hold out her hands to be held by them but is cautious with people we don't know.
- sits up in the grocery cart now like a big girl. Loves getting a balloon when we go to the store together. She will hold the balloon string in her hand and stare up at the balloon.
- Has many "looks" that make us laugh. Especially her serious one were she bends her head down and furrows her brow.
- Still sucking her thumb when she is tired and during naps, but not any other time.
- Seems to be a tough little cookie, it takes a pretty hard fall to bring any tears
- gives big slobbery kisses

I will end with this cute video of Cara while I read her a new favorite book. She loves looking at the babies in this book and laughing at them.

She is growing so fast it is hard to believe! I love her smiles and laughter! Every baby should be enjoyed and celebrated like this!
